Description
The Empire Blackburn 36" Built-In Wood-Burning Firebox is a factory-built indoor firebox designed around a wide 36" x 30" opening for a traditional open-hearth presentation. It installs within framed construction and connects to a dedicated 12" chimney system. Choose from brick, herringbone, or smooth refractory liners in black, mocha, concrete, or white to coordinate the interior with the surrounding room design.
The Blackburn 36 includes a firescreen, log grate, attic insulation shield, and installation hardware. The refractory liner, hearth extension, chimney components, termination cap, and non-combustible finishing materials are selected separately. This firebox is UL 127 listed and may also be used with compatible vented or vent-free decorative gas log systems when installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable codes.

- Optional Outside Combustion Air – The WBOAK outside air kit can supply combustion air through an exterior connection.
- Decorative Gas Compatibility – Compatible vented or vent-free decorative gas log systems may be installed according to the applicable instructions and codes.
- Flexible Installation Layouts – May be installed along a wall, across a corner, in a cabinet enclosure, within a room-divider layout, or in an exterior chase.
- UL 127 Listed – Tested and listed for installation and operation in the United States.
